We are lucky to live the lives we currently do. No matter your opinion on your current life, I can guarantee that you can count at least five things for which you are grateful. Abundance comes in many forms: a loving family, a dutiful pet, an illustrious career, or fantastic talent, to name a few.
When working to gain additional abundance, I find it grounding to consider what we currently have, so we don't ask in excess. By ignoring such blessings, the power of our prosperity work is diminished, as the Universe* is aware of how we treat our possessions and will be less likely to provide more when we ask.
This is known as Energetic Reciprocity. Magic isn't just asking. It's co-creating with universal energy.
Take out your journal and make a list of everything you are grateful for. Not only will this bring you joy as you recognize all that you love and that loves you, but you can also honestly assess whether or not your energy is best expended on a money spell. If, at the end of writing, you still feel as though you need additional abundance, carry on.
When you look at life through eyes of gratitude, the world becomes a magical and amazing place
To clarify, prosperity spellwork doesn't equal greediness. Your goal should be tied to Right Livelihood, where you secure resources to sustain your livelihood and give back to others and the Universe. Don’t let envy, desperation, or comparison fuel your money spells, or they’ll likely backfire. Gratitude is the safeguard that keeps your prosperity work aligned and effective.
These money spells are garnered and adapted from three of my favorite witchcraft books. Each of them is beginner-friendly, uses a limited amount of ingredients/objects, and is powerful enough to bring you the wealth you desire if your intentions are correct.
* I use "Universe" as blanket terminology. For you, the Universe could be Spirits, Gods, Mother Nature, the Collective Unconscious, or whatever best speaks to your practice.

Spells for Living Well
A book "forged in love, written in kindness," and inspiring young practitioners everywhere, is Spells for Living Well - A Witch's Guide for Manifesting Change, Well-Being, and Wonder by Phyllis Curott.
I picked up this book many moons ago, worked through the spells detailed within, and have found much success with dedicated practice. Curott's guidebook is filled with spells for peace, healing, protection, prosperity, and more. For the beginner witch, give it a read. Now, onto the spell.
Tools Required:
- A large green candle, where green represents financial prosperity
- A small knife
- Some bay leaves, whose attributes include wealth and abundance
- A plate
- Matches
Spell Casting:
- Clearly set your intention for heightened prosperity and abundance
- Carve the green money candle with your name and the symbol of currency you use
- Arrange the bay leaves on the plate like the petals of a sunflower, placing the green candle in the center
- Light the candle with a match
- Repeat this Prosperity Spell until your energies shift and you feel the "blessings of abundance, prosperity and the generosity of Mother Nature flowing to you."
Mother from whom all blessings flow, help me make my prosperity grow,
with work that I love for which I'm well paid,
helping myself and others with all I've made.
- Set your spell by stating, "So mote it be!"
- Allow your money candle to burn out. Collect any melted wax and bay leaves as an amulet of abundance on your altar, or any safe place.
Act in Accord:
Focus on your gratitude, or cast a Gratitude Spell, to keep energies positive until the spell manifests. Once prosperity arrives, return the bay leaves to Mother Earth, dispose of the wax, and give back to those who have less.
Replenish Your Wealth Spell
Cast this spell if you find yourself in a creative slump, work has dried up, or money is stagnant
The Modern Witchcraft Spell Book
This next spell is from
It’s written as a practical manual for spells, charms, and rituals, accessible to beginners but expansive enough for seasoned practitioners. Rather than focusing heavily on Wiccan theology, it emphasizes spellcasting as a flexible art form, drawing on folklore, traditional correspondences, and modern adaptations.
Personally, I don't conform to the Wiccan faith, and I found this tome of information to be inclusive of all spiritual paths.
Tools Required:
- 1 paring knife
- 1 lemon, which represents purification, protection, and health
- 1 handful fresh mint leaves, which represent prosperity
- 1 glass bowl
- 3 bay leaves, for wealth
- 3 peppercorns, preferably black, to attract wealth, opportunities, and success
- 1 small piece of Aventurine for wealth
- 1 small piece of Tiger's Eye for good fortune
Spell Casting:
The best time to perform this money spell is during the waxing moon on a Thursday or Friday, or when the sun or moon is in Taurus.
- Slice the lemon and dry the slices in the oven at a low temperature, around 200º F or 93º C
- Sprinkle the mint leaves over the bottom of the glass bowl, lay the dried lemon slices over the mint, then the bay leaves on top of the lemons
- Place the 3 peppercorns in the center, then set the Aventurine and Tiger's Eye atop the peppercorns
- Hold your hands, palms down, over the bowl, and close your eyes
- The bowl represents nourishment and fullness. Envision the bowl filled with money, an endless supply that replenishes itself whenever you dip into it
- Imagine that when you pluck what you need from the money bowl, currency actually rises into your hands.
Once you feel that your energies and intentions have been successfully utilized, place the prosperity bowl on your altar for safekeeping.
Prosperity Change Jar
Use the collective powers of your entire family to bring everyone prosperity
The Outer Temple of Witchcraft
Our final money spell is from The Outer Temple of Witchcraft - Circles, Spells, and Rituals by Christopher Penczak. A phenomenal workbook structured as a year-and-a-day training program with lessons, exercises, and rituals designed to build a foundation in spellcraft and circle work, focusing on the practical, ritual, and communal aspects of Witchcraft.
Tools Required:
- 1 large green or blue glass jar
- 1 tsp yellow dock seeds for purification, multiplication, and increase
- 1 tsp dandelion root for resilience and survival, keeping money flowing despite obstacles
- 1 piece of cinnamon bark for success, attraction, boosting energy, and making money spells work faster
- 1 tsp mustard seeds for small beginnings that lead to considerable wealth
- 1 tsp red clover tops for good luck in money and business ventures
- 1 tonka bean for money-drawing and wish fulfillment
- 1 piece of Lapis Lazuli for wisdom in financial decisions
- A copper penny for each family member
Spell Casting:
- Charge the large jar in a circle under the Waxing Moon, to increase your immediate family's fortune a hundredfold for every currency placed in it
- Charge all herbs and the crystal for prosperity, then place them inside the large spell jar. The measurements given are approximate; small amounts will do, and it doesn't need to be exact
- Have each family member place a copper penny into the jar, which will bring in the magnetic powers of Venus
- As time goes on, place all your spare change into the spell jar. The more that is put in, the more you will receive prosperity and abundance
- When the jar is full, roll the change and do the spell again
I hope this has been a helpful guide! May your spellwork be fueled with positive intentions, noble pursuits, and upon gaining success and prosperity, you give back to your community to help others along their path.
~ With love, Beatrix Devine
