Eyelashes are truly a magic trick in the makeup world. They take your beat from 2D to 3D in a matter of seconds, amping up the drama with little effort.
Long eyelashes are the finishing touch that transforms a smoky eye into pure dark glamour or a minimalist face into a sultry statement.
I love having a grand variety of lashes in my vanity to suit any look I create. Below are some of my favorite dramatic lashes for creating eyes that captivate, bewitch, and command.
New Girl & Meow Meow Paper Lashes
Best for the Goth Club
Made by Drag Queen Alexis Atauri of That's2Gay, these Matsugay paper lashes are destined to touch your eyebrows and beyond.
I've selected two of my favorite styles, New Girl and Meow Meow, as these would give any trad goth makeup look an ultimate level-up. You have a choice of fiber lash base, with each lash being handmade and made to order.
These are the closest styles I could find to Blind Mag's beautiful makeup in Repo; let me know in the comments if there is an exact match out there!
Mixed Style Faux Mink Lashes
These are my go-to everyday lashes. I can't tell you how many packs of these I've gone through since I discovered them in 2021.
The strip has a heft to it, which I find convenient for loading up the lash glue, so I know nothing is going anywhere.
Just trim these beauties to size, glue them on, and flutter away!
Extra Long Spider Leg Lashes
Best for Gothic Lolita
This pair of top and bottom lashes is perfect for giving that haunted doll Lolita look. Your eyes will appear huge when framed with these spider legs!
Also, I love a lash dramatic enough to cast an additional shadow on my face. It's depth that I didn't even have to work for.
The Grimoire of Lashes
For those patient enough to apply individual lashes, this Grimoire by Voodoo Cosmetics is the one to choose.
They have plenty of sizes, from 8mm to 16mm, and you can choose your favorite style: Jinx for Wispy, Banish for Natural, Serpent for Spiky, and Sorceress for Dramatic and Full. Pictured above is my favorite, Sorceress.
The Grimoire of Lashes includes several little gifts: lash glue, sealant, and remover, as well as a pair of purple lash tweezers to aid in your lash application.
Spiderweb Lashes
We had the spider leg lashes, so naturally, the spiderweb lashes must also be included. Typically stocked for Halloween, I know many of my fellow spooks would adore wearing these year-round.
Of all the spiderweb lashes I've tried, these are the most substantial. Many of them are too thin to see on the eye, but the vertical lashes here are pretty long and thicker than other options, creating a perfect dramatic lash.
Green & Pink Glitter Lashes
Every once in a while, the urge to add a pop of color in my makeup arises. I know I'm not the only one.
The wispiness of this lash is the perfect backdrop to blend the colorful bits in without it over-taking the entire lash, which is quite common in mixed-color lashes.
I gathered the green glitter lashes specifically for the Cyber Goths and the white and pink lashes for the Pastel Goths. However, feel free to mix and match as you see fit.
Black & Purple Feather Eyelashes
These lashes truly flutter. The long feather lashes perfectly elongate the eye, and that little gem perfectly catches the light with every blink.
For those not quite ready to commit to the long feather lash, I've also added my favorite shorter feather lash, which achieves a similar effect on a smaller scale.
Manga Cat Eye Lashes
Best for Daily Wear
Here is another pack of my daily lashes that I always keep around. The manga/anime lash style is adorable, super flattering to the eye, and perfect for goth makeup.
Something about the gathered, spiky lashes across the eye is so attractive. I wear these the most out of any lash on this list.
White Top & Bottom Lashes
I couldn't forget the White Goths out there! Whether you're fully draped in white lace or creating an Ice Queen look, this white top and bottom lash set is the perfect option to complete your eye makeup.
The top lash is also in the manga/anime lash style, which, again, is extremely flattering on anyone.
Partial & Full Bat Lashes
It's friggin' bats!!!
Whether you want the whole bat colony emerging at sunset to feed or just a few little guys following up the pack, these lashes are certainly a statement.
Personally, I think they're adorable.
